O.K. all this great talk about copybooks has got me thinking about what will do next year. I printed out sheets this year and just had blank line paper for my youngest.
Next year I'd like to use the program to create their copybooks. Ds will be 6 and is really showing some good coordination, I think he is ready for some more. My 2nd grader will be starting cursive. I've heard wonderful things about this program and can't wait to use it.
My question: Is it better to buy a CD in the box or to just download off the website? The prices don't seem to be much different.

I think the program is the same.. but it sure is nice to have a back up if your computer crashes or such.. not sure what options you have otherwise.. perhaps you could make your own copy of the download?

LOVE-LOVE-LOVE Startwrite for copywork! I just printed a new Startwrite sheet this afternoon for my 6yo that just ADORES copywork!  I like printing his new sight words for his copywork right now, but last week he copied a sweet poem by Lois Lenski, Daily Duties.
I downloaded the program and haven't had a problem, but it is nice to have a hard copy as backup. I can burn CD's on my computer to do this - can you do that, Jenny? If you can burn a CD for a backup, I'd just download it because then you don't have to worry about shipping a CD, and you have the program as soon as you order. Burn the backup CD and you're set!

Thanks ladies, I haven't run across software enough in our hs (yet) to have thought of burning a CD as a back up, we also just purchased an external backup drive. You just saved me some shipping  . Yeah!!
