Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Nothing like waiting until the last minute...
Ds8 is George Washington in a play this Friday. I need to come up with a simple costume. I found some pictures of costumes you can buy on the web but I want to just throw something together. I have to buy a wig but that I can live with. We have the hat. I can put him in khaki pants, find a khaki vest, some boots and a fancy jabot. The jacket has me stuck. I am thinking double breasted with gold buttons and some of my dh's gold braiding from his dress uniform. I guess a trip to Goodwill is in order. I hope Mt. Vernon sells a George wig.
Any other suggestions............

Sounds like you got it covered but I'd pull knee socks (or dad's socks?)up over the pants and puff them a bit to look like breeches. If you cant find a good wig, quilt batting could probably be made to work in a pinch. good luck at goodwill!

I like the idea of quilt batting!
