Received this in an e-mail today:
I am writing this email to ask for your prayers for this almost two-year old little boy. Beau woke crying with a stomach ache on Friday night, Gayle (his mother), soothed him back to sleep. Saturday morning he began crying in a different way, as if he was in excruciating pain. Gayle and her mother in law took him to an on call clinic in Augusta . By the time they got there, Beaus stomach was severely swollen and green fluid was coming out of his mouth and nose.
The doctor rushed him by ambulance to MCG. ( Medical College of GA, a very good hospital). After opening him up, doctors realized he was born with a twisted small intestine. It is rare. His intestine had a hole in it and bile had escaped into his little body. They cleaned up the infection caused by the bile as much as they could, and closed him. That night, the surgeon told Gayle and Arthur, he did not think that Beau would make it throughout the night. The surgeon was crying.
Thanks to powerful prayers, Beau did make it through Saturday night. He had another surgery yesterday at 3pm. They were not able to salvage enough of his intestines for him to live for an extended period. But, they were able to save enough for him to live a little while with a colostomy bag. Right now, Beau is still under anesthesia, on a ventilator, with a colostomy bag and feeding iv, waiting on a small intestine transplant.
The surgeon said last night that he felt much more positive then he did on Saturday night. His words were, although it is touch and go, Beau’s color was better and he made it through Saturday night. He said him making it through that first night showed God’s hand in this. Only three places in the country do small intestine transplants for children— Pittsburg, somewhere in Nebraska , and Miami . The surgeon said last night he was going to get the ball rolling on the transplant and have a team there for them to meet with today (I think). I don’t know how long he will have to wait for a match. I do know there is a lot to go through to get something like this done.
Please pray for
--Beau to stay alive through this waiting period!
--For a donor match—this does not have to be a child’s small intestines, it can come from an adult.
--For the family and Beau not to have to wait very long.
The doctors do not know what the next step is as far as Beau and his state. With a child that is not quite 2, the best thing they think for now is to keep him under, because he has to have all his nutrients through an iv and has to have the colostomy bag. They are taking it day by day. But, the good news here is that the bile did NOT damage any of his other organs.

I will keep Beau in my prayers all througout this day. Praying for all the intentions and for miracles in all areas of this prayer request:
--Beau to stay alive through this waiting period!
