Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I am looking for some good magazines for my kids - ages 4.5 and 2.5. We used to get Highlights High Five, but are looking for something different.
Thanks for your input!

I was going to suggest High Five (dd just started getting it) but I will see what else I can find to help you out. :)

Here is a list from Amazon

My in-laws get magazine subscriptions for our boys every year and we get National Geographic Little Kids, Highlights High Five, and Big Backyard. We like them all, but big backyard is my 3yo's favorite and high fav is my 5yo's favorite. :)

Big Backyard is the only one we get right now, but both my 5 1/2 and 3 1/2 year old boys love it!

Even though my dd is 8, she still enjoys Click magazine. The photography is great and she is starting to read these on her own. So, easy reading but talks pretty well to a bigger kid.
We have also enjoyed High 5 and Big Backyard.

I was going to suggest these. We really enjoy Cricket Publishing Magazines. My oldest started with Baby Bug and she is currently getting Cobblestone and Cricket.

Are there any Catholic Magazines for kids? Magnifikid looks like it's geared to a slightly older crowd. Or how about Nature Friend? Is that better for older kids, too?
Thanks for all your help!

There's St. Mary's Messenger although it's also aimed at a slightly older age group.

BTW the best way to judge Nature Friend is to download some of their Sample issues and see for yourself.

These are favorites in our home, too. My oldest currently enjoys Cricket and my youngest loves Ladybug.

Thanks for the babybugbabybug link.

Is it a collection of stories every month?

Is it Catholic?

They are not Catholic. They are very simple, short stories about one little character/child, and then some simple little poems, too. They're published monthly like a magazine. You can check them out at the library before you subscribe, and you can often find older collections/lots available for purchase on ebay.

My daughter, age 6, loves Big Backyard. She does enjoy Click, but not as much. My boys, ages 4 and 3, love Wild Animal Baby (especially my 3 year old who started receiving it at age 2).

Yours in Christ,
Mary
