Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

What do you do While nursing your little one and how do you feel about that?

I've always either had a book to read or surfed the net while nursing babies, but am wondering if multitasking is a good thing in this regard.

I multi-task most of the time: read, computer work, teach lessons, read to the other kids, watch TV. Sometimes I pray in silence or listen to music. In the early months when they sleep constantly, it doesn't bother me to do something else. Now that my babe is almost four months old, he's all wiggly and I usually can't multi-task. Plus, now when he's nursing he is staring at me with those loving eyes and I can't help but stare back. When he dozes, I still do other things and if he wants to nurse during school I go right on teaching.

I think Lara explained it well.. I do other things.. but also pay attention to the baby.. especially when getting him started.. and as he relaxes and closes his eyes I figure he's not interacting with me anyway so I read or use the computer etc.
