I found out last Friday that we are going to have a new addition!
I was completely shocked, as I am tandem nursing my one-year-old and my older daughter too, still.
I had two periods, 5-6 weeks apart, then nothing. I thought it was just another irregular cycle.
I completely disregarded my enhanced sense of smell, slight queasiness, tight wedding rings, snug pants, and crampy abdomen. ;-) I chalked it up to being 37.
Well, surprise!!! I have not had an ultrasound yet, but will in the next week or so, for dating. I am guessing I am about 7 weeks or so. The other night, I went to bed at 6:30 pm. My usual bedtime is 12:30 or so. I am nauseated after eating, the usual. :-) All normal for me, all reassuring at this point.
I am asking for prayers for a healthy pregnancy, please. I have had two m/c in the past, at 5w6d and 11w6d. I have been asking Blessed Mother Theresa to pray for me for peace, and can use all of the prayers I can get!
I suffer from anxiety even when I am not pregnant. I have been having some panic attacks at the thought of another m/c. In my head, I *know* I would be fine. I am just so scared of when it would happen, where it would happen, *what* would happen. I ended up in the ER with my later m/c, although in hindsight, I would have been fine at home, physically. I worry that I will bleed everywhere, that my kids will see and be traumatized, etc. <Sigh> I am so afraid to suffer in this way again that I am suffering now, by worrying!! I have actually prayed to God that if I am to miscarry, that they just find it on the ultrasound, so I don't have to have that moment of finding blood. For some reason, I feel the most anxiety about the moment of first seeing spotting or blood. Once I *knew* I was miscarrying last time, my anxiety actually went *down* some, since the anticipation of the actual event was so overwhelming to me.
So, I ask for specific prayer for the peace which surpasses all understanding. Please pray that my anxiety leaves me completely. Worrying won't change the outcome, just make my days harder! See, I *know* this, but my brain and body still display the symptoms of anxiety. (I do take some meds for this, so please pray they work better too!)
While we were shocked at first, I now just laugh with joy to hear my children speak about the new baby. They are so excited!Even my teenager is excited. I wasn't sure how he was going to react. I want to be able to feel this joy daily, without the stress and anxiety interrupting.
Thanks to all of you for your prayers. They mean the world to me.

Rejoicing with you, dear Leocea!
"Jesus, I trust in You!"
And my two favourite St. Padre Pio quotes:
"Fear not because God is with you".
"Pray, hope, and don't worry. Worry is useless. God is merciful and will hear your prayer."

I will pray for you, Leocea. I know your feelings very well. I had never had any pregnancy complications until last spring when I miscarried for the first time. When I became pregnant again in the fall, I felt the same as you described above. We lost that baby, too. I'm older than you, though, and maybe should expect things not to be normal.
Congratulations! I like your title of your post. :)
Much love....

Congratulations!!!!
I will pray for you! I also suffer anxiety/panic attacks while pregnant (and still suffering postpartum right now) and got so bad that I rarely left the house the last two months of pregnancy and my mom spent a lot of time with me so I wouldn't be alone. It is debilitating and I am so sorry you suffer from anxiety and panic. All I can suggest is to pray constantly and see a good therapist.
