Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I know- weird... but I was at Ross over the weekend, and they had a ton of beautiful religious statues for under ten bucks! I bought a beautiful St. Joseph statue. Tag says it is handmade from the Giovanni Giftware collection.

Also to choose from: Infant of Prague, St. Francis, St. Therese, St. Raphael,
several of Mary, including OLMM, Good Shepherd... twelve to eighteen inches high and gorgeous.

In another area they had mantle signs. I found signs for PRAY, PEACE, FAMILY and one that said LOVE with Love is patient, Love is kind on the base. These were about $3 each- cheaper than buying the individual letters at a craft store and making my own.

I don't know if this is at all Ross stores... but worth a look if you are in one this week.

Wish we had a Ross store in our neighbourhood - sounds like you walked into a dream!

Yes- I did a complete double-take when I saw them. I thought I was hallucinating. I thought: "Oh, my- that looks like the Infant of Prague over there in the next aisle. I'm losing it!"

Yes! I got several of these! There were so many beautiful choices that I had to show some self restraint. I ended up buying St. Anthony and Our Lady of Grace. The statues at my store were lacking in "name tags" for the statues, so you have to just know who you're looking at. Always at Ross if anything looks a little damaged ask for a discount at the counter. I've never been turned down. I actually got a very big Mary statue for $3 there once. (She was missing a hand. Building her a new hand out of sculpey is on my long-term to-do list.)

I wish I had a Ross nearby (and money to spend).

I got the Divine Mercy Jesus at Ross last year and the details on it are so beautiful. It was only like $10 or something. It is carved wood. What a store!
