Cyber-Aunties, I'm on my way to the hospital, all prayers are VERY, VERY Much apprecated! Thank you one and all!

We're home!!!! The Dr. let us come home early!
I will update with details after I get some rest. It was a long labor, she was born at 2 A.M. 1/1/11, and I've only slept a total of 2 1/2 hours since yesterday A.M.. All went well in the end, and your prayers were what got us through. Thank you all soooooo much!

Jan. 7, 2011
Finally an update!
It has been a busy week, but baby and Mommy are doing great! Our new arrival, Cecelia Maria Adelaide is a sweet little baby who sleeps a lot and wakes up quietly to nurse, and doesn't fuss a whole lot, only when naked and getting overly hungry. Truly a blessing at such a busy time for us!
There is a picture here on our website now, if you dear cyber-aunties would like to see.
O.K. on to the birth.
My water broke in the bath tub Friday morning 8:50 A.M., don't know if I'll ever get used to that feeling.
Went to the hospital shortly there-after. Not my preference, but Dr.'s desire, due to 1st ds being born so soon after arrival at hospital(20 min, with nurse delivering). My last 3 labors have been weird, with contractions taking a long time to get "regular", then within a few hours of actually getting going full force, baby arrives.
Well, we arrived at hospital, Dr. checked me, 4 cm. dil, 80% effaced, baby minus 2 station. But, contractions were irregular and light, which stayed the same most of the day, with some heavier contrax. here and there.
I tried walking the halls, swaying on the birthing ball, standing up, squatting, all fours, pelvic rocks, etc. Nothing was working to get baby to move down into position.
Early afternoon, the Doctor was talking inducing with pitocin, which I did not want. She said she usually starts at 8 hrs. from time of water breaking, but would wait until 12 hrs.
Well baby was taking her time, alllll day. When I talked to my Mom she said try taking a nap if I could, as sometimes that can relax you from the transition from home to hospital, and will get labor going again. It seemed to have worked somewhat, as when I woke up things progressed a little more, finally 6 cm. dilated.
Well, as I had been resting in bed for a while, I was praying and praying to O.L. of the Miraculous Medal that I would be able to avoid induction and epidural.
Our Lady's intercession did not fail! another lady had come in that afternoon, and the doctor had to do a c-section on her. The time the doctor went into surgery? Exactly the hour she had wanted to start induction! And, while she was in surgery things started progressing again with MUCH stronger contrax. I was able to rest a little between contrax., but I was hitting a wall. I was feeling emotional, and didn't think I could make it through the rest of labor, I felt totally worn out.
After she got out of surgery, I was at 8 cm., fully effaced, and baby was at 0 station! She said any time I was ready I could push, and she'd help guide the cervix around baby, but I wasn't ready.
Finally she came in and I was fully dilated and she asked if I felt ready to push I told her "not really", but I also knew that if I did, I could finally get it over with, and I'd have our beautiful new baby to hold. So, I did. The pushing went very well. She is the best Doctor/Midwife I've ever had. I know she is used to more medical interventions than *I* wish for, but she really respects my desires and beliefs and works so beautifully with me and dh, leaving most all choices to us. My overall preference would be home-birth, and I think dh may eventually be comfortable with it, but until then, she is the next best thing, I cannot say enough thanksgiving for her. She did such a beautiful job helping ease baby out, no tears or lacerations, etc. Just soothingly talking me through things.
Then.... Our sweet baby GIRL made her arrival. This sweet bundle has been hiding her gender all along this pregnancy, and oldest dd more than anyone was hoping for a sister. So it is with great joy and we celebrate the birth of Cecelia Maria(for the Blessed Mother and my mother) Adelaide(for dh's mother and the Saint my dh interceded to for a wife before we met ). Born at 2;00 A.M. January 1, 2011, 8 lbs. 4.5 oz., 21.5 in.
Thank you dear friends for ALL your prayers!
ETA: this was a beautiful birth in 2 ways for dh and I. The time waiting so long for labor we spent in kind of a "date" time, which we so rarely ever have. We prayed a rosary, and watched a movie, it was so nice. Dh had the most chance he's had yet to really help and comfort me through labor and it was so awesome.
Also I was able to decorate the hospital room with a favorite statue my Mom and I painted together, a crucifix blessed and used in our wedding ceremony, and various pictures to help me focus on offering up the pain. It was my first time being able to do this, and it made the birth so much more meaningful, it was awesome. and of joy at how good God is, and how grateful I am for the birth and this new life.

Servant here. Pilgrim called asking for continued prayers, as her labor has stalled...she's at the same point as when she went in, around 10am. The doctor has mentioned induction, if labor doesn't pick up and occur naturally by 8pm, which Pilgrim and dh had hoped to avoid. They are truly grateful for all prayers on their behalf. Little ones, Baba (Servant) and uncles are all home, anxiously awaiting word of the new arrival!
Praying for the intentions of everyone here, for a blessed and grace-filled New Year and many answered prayers for all the intentions you hold deep in your hearts!
