My dh loves salty, nothing.at.all sweet. The sweetest he gets is fresh fruit and the only thing dried he'll eat is raisins.

I hate always buying potato chips & pretzels to satisfy his saltiness.

What would be some good homemade snacks that are salty, short of making my own potato chips, which seems crazy to me?!?!!!!

My dh is the same way! He loves peanuts. At least there's protein in them.

How about popcorn?

Duh that's a good point about the popcorn. We use to do the microwaveable but switched a couple of years ago to a Stir Crazy Popper, so although good, but not as easy as the microwave. Maybe I should just make some and have it in a can or bag or something so he can just snag a handful or two when he wants.

Yes he loves peanuts too...forgot that one.

Jodie that recipe looks yummy, thanks!

Kacky ...you had me at salty

I always pop my popcorn on the stove top in coconut oil, and add a wealth of butter(!) and an exorbitant amount of salt.

Savory Cheese Dollars! Yum! Thanks for sharing that Jodie!

Southern Cheese Straws are one of my favorites (probably like the dollars Jodi mentioned).

Also, chex mix keeps coming to mind. My mom used to make it, but I haven't had it in years. Very tasty, though.

Coconut oil makes THE BEST popcorn

My kids enjoy the big container of Pub Mix from Costco. Dh likes turkey jerky, other nuts like pistachios, almonds and sunflower seeds.

Thanks for asking this--I was wondering the same thing about my husband. He definitely doesn't share my sweet tooth.

He likes to snack on:
homemade bread and biscuits
homemade salsa with chips
rice with a fried egg
fried rice
peanut butter sandwiches
other leftovers

I just made Soy Almonds yesterday, and my husband and I just keep on eating them. I got the recipe from Cheap Healthy Goodbut modified it to use soy sauce and didn't really measure. It's almonds coated with soy and a little sugar, and then baked.

They're really, really good. I think they'll become a snack staple. I think you could easily use the coating for any kind of nuts, and you could vary it by putting chili or cumin or hot sauce or sesame oil in the coating.
