Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Help! Didn't someone post an overnight french toast recipe? I searched the boards and couldn't find it--if anyone has it can you please repost it? I seem to remember that it is assembled the night before and refrigerated, then just popped in the oven in the morning? Thanks!

Here's a link to Mary Chris' AWESOME French toast.. It's a big hit here. My family likes it made with really sturdy rustic bread and I use maple syrup instead of corn syrup.

We skip the corn syrup also, maple syrup works just fine!

Here's one of our favorites. I usually make it the night before a holiday or family event. We love it!

Blueberry French Toast

12 slices Texas toast bread with crust discarded, cut into 1" cubes
(I've used wheat, white, and oat bread, and I never cut off the crust)
1 pkg cream cheese, at room temp
1 cup blueberries (I often use frozen)
12 large eggs
1/3 cup maple syrup
2 c milk

For the sauce:
(I usually double this)

1 cup sugar
1-2 Tbsp cornstarch, depending on preferred thickness
1 cup water
1 cup blueberries
1 Tbsp unsalted butter

Spray or grease a 9x13 baking dish well. Arrange half of the bread cubes on the bottom, and then dab little pieces of cream cheese all over it. Sprinkle on the blueberries. Add the remaining bread cubes. Mix together eggs, milk, and syrup, and then pour over the bread. Chill overnight. Bake covered with foil for 30 min at 350 degrees. Remove foil and bake for another 30 min or until golden brown and puffed.

During the last 20 min, make the sauce. In a saucepan, stir together sugar, cornstarch, and water. Cook over med heat for 5 min or until thick. Stir in blueberries and simmer for 10 min, stirring occasionally. Add the butter and stir until melted. Serve the french toast with the sauce. (duh)

Enjoy!
