Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hi ladies! : )

I need help with some gift ideas for a young lady our family picked off our church's giving tree.

I know her name, that she is 16 and her sizes in clothing and shoes. The one thing she requested is "arts and crafts kits". I have no clue what kind she might like to do though.

We will be giving her gift cards to Kohls (so she can pick out clothes and shoes) and Michaels craft store (so she can get any items she really wants), but I want to wrap up some art and crafting materials that a teen would enjoy too. Any suggestions?

Jewelry making is a big hit with the teen girls around here. Lots of kits for those too!

I would second the jewelry idea, but also add scrapbook kits. Very popular lately, just make sure it includes everything, or add the needed supplies (like glue or double sided tape...)

Calligraphy might be a good idea.   Or maybe one of those decorate a bag type kits from Target.

Ooo Trinity! I REALLY like your avatar!

Perhaps a few nail polishes, with those tiny stickers, nail clippers, a nail file, some of those sticks, cotton gauzes and nail polish remover all in a pretty zipper bag?

Or a "how to" book for crocheting or knitting, plus supplies? (Needles/hook, yarn, scissors, maybe a tote bag to hold it all...)

I would vote for the knitting/crocheting.. or jewelry.. they all lend themselves to little or big projects depending on your level of patience with it. scrapbooking seems like a much bigger project to me.. though I know you can make simpler pages and fewer pages etc.. (makes me want to run screaming just thinking about it )

Thank you so much ladies! I love all these ideas. : ) I'll have to stop at the craft store and see what goodies I can find.

I also picked up this for her: Natural Lip Balm Making Kit I have used their products before and they are lovely. Looks like a fun kit too.

I found the animated wreaths here some time ago: http://webhome.idirect.com/~totton/llizard/advcandl.html
Very cool idea someone came up with!
