My heart is aching at the thought of not having any more children. My baby just turned 3 this month and I turned 41 this summer. My husband is perfectly at peace with not having any more (we do practice NFP so there is always hope!) but my desire just keeps getting stronger. I finally gave away all my maternity clothes and most of the baby clothes last night and it was one of the hardest things I have ever done. I haven't stopped crying all day. Please pray that our hearts will be united to God's will.

Our Lady of La Leche, pray for us! St. Andrew, pray for us!

Dear Ruth, I will certainly pray for you to have peace. I will pray that you will be able to cast your cares upon Him who cares for you so deeply. If it is indeed His Will that you have no more children, then you know already that it is the very best thing. But I do think you might have some hope in having more children. After giving away all my maternity and baby clothes at 42, thinking I was certainly done with babies, I had twins at almost 45 and then another baby shortly before I turned 46! So there might be some hope that the desire you have for another child will be fulfilled. Be at peace. God holds the future.
