Have you seen the Catholic ABC's over at Catholic Icing?
It looks like a great and fun series for preschoolers and early elementary.
Worth a look if you are looking into plans for next year or after Christmas.

Aren't they great Melinda??
I don't have anyone for them this year, maybe next.
I look forward to using them.
She has some great ideas, I enjoy her blog.

I looked at them briefly and agree they seem great! My little man is ready for that kind of thing, so I'm hoping to incorporate her ideas.

Aw, you guys just have to say that because you know I'm on this forum.
Ok, just kidding. I use the Catholic ABCs curriculum every week with my own kids and my preschool co-op class, and it works really well! I hope you guys can find it useful. Thanks for posting this, Melinda!

Okay, oh my Lord!
That blog is fantastic! Seriously, that is now my #1 favorite blog ever! She is a phenomenal artist and you can't find things and ideas like this anywhere on the web, show she is doing a fantastic thing. If she charged for her curriculum I'd pay for it. That's how great it is.
Also, how sad is it that I always thought that the immaculate conception meant the Annunciation.
She explains things so well, that even adults can benefit.

We just finished our spring co-op, and I used the Catholic ABC's with the 3- and 4-yo's and it was a wonderful hit! Genius, indeed! Thank you, Lacy. You are blessing lots of little Catholic babes!

Aw, you guys are so sweet!
I'm having trouble finishing it up. We just did "W" this week, which leave me with X, Y, and Z. I'm particularly looking for ideas for Z, so let me know if ya'll have any ideas. I'm really trying to avoid using the Old Testament for anything, and... there's pretty much nothing Catholic in the world that starts with Z.
Anyway, this Summer I am going to put Catholic ABC's into a book that will be for sale in the Fall. The book will be more complete than what I have time to post online, and include some new crafts, so I'm really excited about it!

Z
Although I was initially thinking of Zechariah or Zacchaeus.
Sorry if these don't really fit your needs, Lacy. I happened to be looking something up at Saints.SPQN.com, and just clicked over to Z to see what was there and thought I'd link for you.

I thought of Zacchaeus right away as well and that cool song, you know "Zacchaeus was a wee little man..."

I'm thinking of your Z again, Lacy...and I've been reading Mother Mary Loyola's Hail Full of Grace: Simple Thoughts on the Rosary, and I just finished reading the beautiful section on the Visitation. In Mother's reflections of Mary's visit with Elizabeth and Zachary/Zechariah, she observes that Our Lady's heart was full, but "it needed the loving congratulations of her cousin Elizabeth to unlock its treasures and give the Magnificat to the world." I had to share with you a little more *Z*:
Emphasis mine:
Mother Mary Loyola wrote:
Notice how the immediate effect of God's presence is to enkindle zeal for souls. |

This thought probably belongs more in Hidden Treasure; it's so rich with beauty and meaning, but I couldn't help noticing how much *Z* was standing out to me right after I saw your post. So, regardless of its usefulness, thank you for prompting me to be more aware of it!

I would probably use one of the great suggestions above, but adding a few more "Z"s for fun.
Zucchetto - the small skull cap worn by bishops
Juan de Zumárraga - Bishop of Mexico, to whom St. Juan Diego revealed the tilma image and roses. Don't figure you would use him, but I had to mention him because he is Basque - gotta promote the heritage, you know...

Zeal is the one that really sticks out to me right now, because of upcoming Pentecost, and thinking of the Apostles on fire with zeal!
How about Zebedee, as in sons of Zebedee?
