Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

We're seriously considering and researching Kindles for Christmas.
There is the Kindle 6" Wi Fi Latest Generation
or the Kindle 6" Wi-Fi +3G Latest Generation
or the deluxe Kindle DX 9.7"
Looking for dd17, who continues to read OOP books online, I'm sure the Kindle would be better for her eyesight.

I'd love thoughts as to which version, or perhaps you would recommend another?

Erin,

I don't really know about the Kindle specifically but I can speak to the Wi-Fi verses 3G or both. I bought our Itouch and love it but its really difficult when I am out and about to not have the Wi-fi connection. That being said, if she downloads from home ALL THE TIME, the 3G network really is not needed.
I think I would get the largest screen I can afford. We are saving here for the new IPad because I want a reader and screen that is larger than my itouch

Good Luck choosing!

Mimi

I really appreciate this advice. Dh is thinking downloading from the computer always is fine, but I'm also aware that she is 17, could leave home in a year or two and may need her kindle to have more flexibility.

I'd love the DX, it is just so pricey!

Thought I'd give an update. After much research we ended up buying a Kobo from Borders. Currently going to $129 in store.

A major reason was if we bought from Kindle we would be locked into buying books from Amazon, and yet many Australian books are not available from Amazon. An Australian publishers issue.

A Kobo is a basic, entry level ereader.
