Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

only have 5 dressing up this time.. oldest has decided not to and next oldest is alter server tonight.. and the 2 youngest aren't dressing up.. that leaves 5 to dress as saints and be in the procession at Mass.

We've decided on

St. Joan of Arc
St. Dymphna
St. Joseph (need to find that toy hammer)
St Benedict (thinking about making a book cover for "his rule" to help identify him)
St. Scholastica (need to find something to make the white "collar" part of a habit)

so I'm just about done but stuck here NAK with the baby.. so I'm telling you about it instead of finishing it up

A friend did the cutest thing for St. Joseph for her little boy. He had a Home Depot apron with the name tag "Joe" and carried a tool chest.

Mary had a St. Benedict medal coloring page linked here...you could print that out and put it on the cover?

We had our party this morning. It was a wonderful time.

I found a red binder and cut out the shapes for the front from some gold cellophane I had.. a bit of stick glue and voila!

Oh that sounds great for St. Joesph.. but I don't have any of that I did find some fabric that we'd used as a tunic before.. then hunting for a brown drape.. well I found a tan sheet.. plus the hammer and I think we're good

I found a long underwear shirt that was in with fabric to be mended.. I figured that the odds of the mending happening were slim to none.. so I cut out the collar with enough fabric for the nun's habit.. being a knit I don't have to do any heming or anything.
