After reading many threads here and elsewhere about narrations, I've decided to really make a point to do them in our home.
Last night, my daughter asked to take a science book with her to bed. "Sure, just be careful because it's a library book and doesn't belong to us."
"Okay, mama, I will."
This morning, when she came downstairs, she said, "Last night, when I had the book about eyes in my bed, I think I read a page all by myself."
"Great! Can you tell me about it?"
And she proceeded to tell me about what she read! It was about two sentences-worth of narration, but it was success! And she didn't even know she was put on the spot. I love this job.

The excitement you feel right now, has never grown old with me. I love, love, love to listen to my children of all ages narrate!
Love,

I'm so thrilled for you!!! This aspect of home education - narrations - is one that in our family began small, grew, became comfortable, grew again...and like Angie, I never tire of it! We keep reading and the children keep narrating, and I'm right alongside and learning with the children. I'm so excited for you and your daughter, MamaFence!
