Our DS is due in less than 3 months and DH and I cannot come up with a boy name. We currently have a DD and a DS (who is the fifth - named after my husband).
We are both drawing a blank with names this go 'round. Any suggestions for us?????

what sort of names are you most drawn to? Do you like unusual names? Do you like traditional names? do you like names that are more popular but with some tradition?

I would say traditional, popular but with some tradition, and definitely biblical.
I am sort of drawn to the name Dominic, but cannot seem to come up with a great middle name to go with it.

okay..I'm right in the middle of this with you too. Our little boy is due in about 3 months too and we are having trouble. We went to a few different webistes (a Catholic names list and the top 100 American names list) and wrote out everything we thought we might like. We've weeded a few out but aren't sure where to go from here. But we'll get there I'm sure. I'll give you a few that are on our list...
Michael, Luke, Aaron, Joseph, Andrew, Daniel, Samuel, Mark, Simon, Micah, Dominic, Jesse

Too funny!!! Luke, Andrew, Daniel, Samuel are all on ours as well. Like I stated above ..... Dominic is one of our faves - just can't seem to put a middle name with it right now.
I was really liking Dominic Luke, Dominic Stephen, Dominic Lawson. I also like Matthew, Travis, Cain, Blaise - oh there are so many I like still.
We can rule out Anthony and Joseph as our DS is already named Anthony Joseph (the fifth)!!!!!

I noticed that I like boys names that have 4 syllables total.. so with Dominic I'd be looking for a one-syllable name.. James. John, Karl, Paul, Kurt, Luke, Keith, Scott
other first names I would look for short middle names..
Timothy
Nathaniel
Zachary
Samuel
Theodore
Benedict
then I would combine any two of these..
Aaron
Jacob
Charles
Douglas
Matthew
Henry
Peter
Richard
Daniel
William
Andrew

My son's name is Dominick after my grandpa. My grandpa's middle name was Sebastian (which means servant) and I always thought I would pair those two names. DH had other ideas and our compromise was Ezekiel, which means strength of the Lord. Our son was born at 26 weeks and seeing him so tiny and vulnerable we decided he needed both Dominick "belongs to the Lord" and Ezekiel "strength of the Lord."
Congratulations!!

I was thinking about a Dominic Joseph for one of my sons, but I thought it would be confusing as I already had a Nicholas (Nicky) and I knew I would end up calling a Dominick Nicky as well... how is that for helpful
I love John Paul, John Peter, Nicholas Joseph (obviously, Paul Gregory, Joseph Michael, Peter James....
oh, and all of my boys have a Joseph in their names somewhere as a devotion..what a man he is!!
(I know I love a few others but it has been a looong day and I am half brain-dead)
HTH!

well, I personally think Dominic Luke sounds FABULOUS, but that might be because I have a Luke Dominic.
congratulations and have fun pondering all the options!

Well now so do I Our oldest's son's name
We did also toy with Dominic Xavier and Dominic Vincent.
However we did decide to keep Xavier for a first name and used it for our 2nd son. Xavier Michael.

Our boys are Vincent Joseph and Xavier Thomas.
I *love* the name Domenic but have an uncle by that name, so we haven't used it (yet). I like Domenic Joseph, Domenic Ambrose, Domenic Michael, Domenic Matthew. I think it goes well with a lot of names, actually.
On our list for boys (some for a first name, some for a middle): Edmund, Ambrose, Andrew, Conrad, Damian, Matthew, Benedict...

My brother, therefore my son's uncle, is Dominic also. In fact he is only 7.5yrs older than my ds. He is Dominic Ambrose James. We just all call him Uncle Dominic to differentiate.
