my throat has hurt for a week but I assumed it was the on-going crud that seems to be passing among the kids. then this weekend the pain got very severe and a lump formed on my throat. it's either a cyst on my thyroid that has hemorraghed (sp?) or a massively infected lymph node. I should find out which, plus surgical options, at the radiologist this afternoon. I would appreciate prayers ... I am in a fair amount of pain and seemed to have used up my courage reassuring my weepy/nervous DD. thank you!
THANK YOU FOR YOUR PRAYERS! no answers yesterday, which made for a long night, but I woke up this morning filled with such a sense of peace -- I just knew it was the 4Real prayers.  and here is what ELSE your prayers have brought about: the lump turned out to be a hemorrhaged cyst, and most likely benign. and the specialist (who was able to see me right away instead of in 2 weeks like they said at first, which I attribute directly to your prayer power) was able to drain a whopping 10 ml of blood from it. I began feeling better within hours and my very worried kids have been ecstatic to have mama "back." (although tomorrow they may not be, since having my voice back means SCHOOL is back, too.  ) my throat is still sore but it's a normal sort of sore, and the cyst may fill with blood again but it can be drained again, too. most importantly, my thyroid appears to be working fine.
so, tonight I am relieved and rejoicing and wanted to thank all of you for the prayers and kind notes!

I'm praying, Viviane! I know it's so hard to maintain peace in the face of something so unknown like this. I'm praying that with knowledge and understanding comes a workable plan...and that peace returns after the gift of time takes away a bit of the sting of this unknown concern!

Praying for the least complicated diagnosis and quick relief/healing, Viviane. This sounds kind of scary, especially the not knowing just what it is.
