Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

My niece is having tests done and this has come up as a possibility and also perhaps Cushings disease.

Are there treatments, foods, exercises, etc. that help manage these?

Thanks for any advice!

I've got PCOS. The most commonly recommended treatment is a combination of a low-carb diet (they told me South Beach) and the drug metformin, which is usually for diabetics. PCOS is thought to be caused by insulin resistance that affects how your ovaries process hormones, so the treatment is to reverse the insulin resistance. Most people that I know with it have had near-miraculous results from just being on the metformin for a few months, but that has done nearly nothing for me after over a year. I'm now doing a much stricter diet in the hopes of solving some the health problems I've had from it, including infertility. I hope that your niece gets a good diagnosis and treatment plan that works for her.

I used Atkins and it worked. Have her check out the Pope Paul VI institute at www.popepaulvi.org
They deal with this a lot and should be able to help.

Also, the book Fertility, Cycles and Nutrition by Marilyn Shannon availble from CCLI.org may have some helpful advice too (It has been a while since i read it but I do think they had something in there).

Best wishes,
