My whole family has been hit by a bad cold..I thought I could just get away with a sore throat...wrong again! I have a little baby that needs me and my cortisol is up again (as it was while I was pregnant) so it is incredibly hard to sleep..just when I need it most. At least the toddler is very fond of one of the twins...My dd has been taking care of him at night..,.Deo Gratias for older children!!
Please pray for me that I can rest and get over this thing and not feel like a zombie anymore and that the baby doesn't get this? Thank God she is so cute...I don't mind her needing me so much...lol
What are your favorite remedies for getting rid of a cold when you are nursing a newborn? She will be 4 weeks old tomorrow...wow, that went fast...
Thank you...
now back to my regularly scheduled sneezing...blech!
I got to talk to God about this sick thing. Isn't labor enough for now?? LOL

Praying for you, Donna Marie!
I have a variety of cold home-remedies that I use (and have used while nursing infants). Emergen-C, hot tea and honey, and a warm water tonic of garlic, honey, and lemon. And of course, take it easy and get lots of rest.

Donna Marie, I feel for you. I'm praying with empathy!
Nursing requires REST and FLUIDS under the best of circumstances. Doctor Nan (that's me!) prescribes as much of both as your family dynamics allow. Reasonable amounts of vitamin C (as long as sweetie baby can tolerate them) will help, too.
Sending prayers...

Oh ugh, Donna Marie!
Tagging on to the wise advice of those who have already posted...lots of rest, lots to drink, warm showers, warm tea...and ridiculous amounts of Jane Austen from the DVD player!
Praying for you and sending and digital chocolate!!

Praying for a quick recovery. My dad always would make us hot lemonade: boil water, squeeze a good amount of lemon and add some sugar for taste. My dh always protects/babies his throat: use a scarf. And yes lots of rest

Praying for you, Donna Marie! I prescribe homemade chicken noodle soup. If I was there, I would bring you some as it is what we always have when a cold strikes our home.

Thank you all so much. This is a bad one...and is lingering a bit. I think I am going through the stages of it faster than dh because I am using some herbal and natural things and he is only just starting to use them. He started with this first. If dh gets sick, you know it is a good virus. Usually they are too afraid of him...haha
Today it is affecting my eyes..I am such a be-au-ti-ful sight!
Lots of and prayers going up for all of you!!
(We need a praying emoticon...)
