I'm planning ahead a bit...trying to incorporate more of the liturgical year into my guitar lessons this fall. I know not all Advent music sounds good on the guitar , but guitar does make a nice secondary instrument for many lovely hymns and songs.
Please share your favorites...

Well here are some of my favorite Christmas songs to play on the Guitar:
What Child is This
Away in a Manger
Silent Night
Please let me know what your favorites are, and ANY liturgical songs you can play on the guitar for that matter! Lol! I play most things with very simple chords and try to rely on my *cough* vocal skills to pull me through. So I can't play anything complicated. These songs I've listed above are all easy to play and sing with simple chords. I hope this is what you were looking for.

Marian hymns are welcome, too! (Third Sunday of Advent, hint, hint!)

well.. realizing that Advent hooks into Christmas.. and the best Christmas music is what I grew up hearing.. I LOVE "O Come, O Come Emmanuel" and I would LOVE it if it was played every Sunday of Advent.. it's just "right". Like Adeste Fideles on Christmas day (mignight and morning masses, both) for a gathering/entrance hymn.
though People Look East is growing on me
