that hot, melted beef fat will clean up your stove top?
I have a white stove top and over the last dozen years it has accumulated some burnt-on, stained, brown spots that I just cannot seem to scrub out, rub out, no matter what cleaning product I try (the magic eraser pad works really, really well, but just doesn't get out everything).
However, I was boiling a rack of beef ribs for later barbequing and over the course of an hour or so the water / melted fat was spilling out of the soup pot (even with the lid on). After getting the rack out of the pot and the pot off the stove, I realized how much had actually spilled over. So I grabbed the dish sponge and began to soak it up and scrub it gently, then I realized that it was still fairly hot, but also happened to notice that all of those tiny little specks where disappearing! I think the hot, greasy fat literally heated up those specks to the point where it was as though they are fresh from evening dinner! My stove top looks spankin' new!

My white stovetop is disgusting. Pouring hot grease on it couldn't possibly make it any worse! Seriously, Chris, thanks for passing along this great tip. I'll certainly try it and report back!
Peace,
Nancy

Love the tip. I know I've boiled water before and used it to specifically clean up pieces of food or gunk on my table, counter and stove top. I'll have to try your tip!
