Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Has anyone read The Sword and the Circle by Rosemary Sutcliff? If so, what did you think of it?

I know that some of her other books are on some of the recommended reading lists and I wanted to know if all of her books could be recommended or...??

TIA!

Can't help, as I haven't read this one - only the ones in the Eagle of the Ninth series. But I do think these two past threads have lots of good general info about Rosemary Sutcliff books and her writing in general. She was very prolific.

Rosemary Sutcliff
Rosemary Sutcliff books, what age?

Short answer, No.

Flowers of Adonis is the first one that comes to mind that is definitely adult. Set in Greece, so I'm sure I need say no more.

However she writes exceptionally well and her 'not suitable' seem to be more the exception.
