Oh I can tell you that I'm very upset right now. So I'll keep this short and sweet. I could use more prayer.
I am just healing still from my back and neck injury, and today, I slipped on the ice while getting into my van, and did something to my left bicep muscle. There was a sharp pain that extended from the top of my arm, through my elbow, to my wrist. My hand tonight is tingly, and I'm in lots of pain.
I am really upset. I feel like I want to scream! It's not been a good winter, and I'm just really well.............I could use prayer. I'm depressed, upset, and downright frustrated!
Thanks everyone!
Tracy

Oh, Tracy.......I am SO sorry.
You can count on my prayers!
I remember a bad year once.........a baby with a congenital heart defect and open heart surgery (on Ash Wednesday), a toddler with a full length leg cast, a sick 4 yr old (double ear infection), a sick husband afraid to help with the baby recovering from surgery, a mom with a broken ankle........and I was coming down with the sickness, too........it was Lent......and my Godmother (God rest her soul) reminded me that sometimes God chooses our Lenten sacrifices for us.....
offer it up!! the Holy Souls need your help!
Love,

Oh, Tracy,
I'm sorry! Praying for you. This has been a year of injuries, illness and doctors for us, too, so I understand your frustration! You are truly "living Lent" when these things happen .... Hang in there, and unite your suffering to His .... Prayers for healing and peace for you ....
love in Christ,

Tracy, this is horrible. When it rains, it pours.
I will pray for you.

I'm right there with you, Tracy. I can't count the number of Lents that our family has been hit with physical collapse. It IS so purposeful and mysterious, isn't it? Two years ago, I physically collapsed to the point that I had to admit that I needed to give up our dream of living with my extended family and that we would have to move...again. Then I was heart-broken too . Ugh. Peter Kreeft points out nicely in his book Making Sense out of Suffering that when we are in the middle of suffering, it is so very hard to see the purpose. It is only afterwards that we may get a glimpse. I felt reassured because one of our family jokes is, "Yes, suffering is purposeful and I don't have to like it!" Usually this thought encourages us to remember His purpose and our goal to unite with Him. We strive to be like the Saints...yet often feel very far away from their maturity in suffering. Baby steps and Grace, I pray!
Extra prayers for you today...and LOTS of empathy!
Love,

Oh Chari.......yes! If it wasn't for that, I don't know WHAT I'd do! A lot of people have been helped through me, and that makes me feel like my suffering is not all for nothing. That would drive me crazy if it was! I don't like doing anything if there's not some purpose to it!
I love what you said (and someone else too)about sometimes the Lord chooses our suffering during Lent. I hadn't thought of it that way. And just yesterday, I was thinking about how my Lent isn't looking the way I wanted it to this year (not able to do as much as I'd like). Wasn't thinking about WHY!!!
Thanks all! I am on the phone with the doctor as I type this (well.......I'm on hold). OK...the doctor is going to see me at 1:15 today. This morning, I feel a pain in a definite spot, and it's not in the muscle, it feels like it's where the bone is. So I'm going to see the doctor. My gut feeling is that I broke it. Hopefully, that's not the case. I'll update when I can.
Thanks SO much for prayer!

UPDATE!!
It's not broken (Praise God I think).
I tore my bicep muscle. I'm wearing a sling. I won't be posting a lot, some, but not a lot.
Thank you so much for your prayers.

Does anyone know how long this type of injury takes to heal? The doctor didn't tell me!

I don't know how long it takes to heal, but I know all things broken can heal with God's love -- if I didn't believe that I wouldn't be here. I'll pray for you.

I'll try to remember to ask my husband, the athlete, who has suffered different muscle injuries.
Thanks for the update...prayers continue.

Thanks Angie.
I can tell this is not as bad as I thought it'd be, Praise God. I know I'll have to be careful, because I know I could reinjure if I'm not careful, but today, my range of motion is SO much better, and I can see this will not be really lengthy for recovery, thank the Lord.
Thanks again for prayer! I SO appreciate it!
My sling is my friend!!!

Qualifying statement: This is not medical advice just my husband's opinion .
He said that he would plan to lay off of it for two weeks and wouldn't expect to have full recover for four weeks. Of course, this depends on the severity of the injury and he would hope to be pleasantly surprised by an earlier healing.
I hope this doesn't discourage but reassures you to take it easy .

I can see your dh is wise. I am regaining some range of motion, but just one bad evening, doing too much (and that wasn't even purposeful), set me back some. I think I'll take your wise dh's advice.
Thanks Angie!!!
