Please pray for a very nice lady from the parish we attend, her baby, and her family. They have just received a diagnosis for their unborn daughter that likely means she will live only a very short time if any time outside the womb. I don't want to presume to provide too many details in public. I think the mother may also be an inactive member of this board. There is a lot of faith there but also the obvious need for prayer and support.

I've been thinking about adding this prayer request to the forum. I have been inactive even though I log in a couple times a week to read some of the posts.
I am 20 weeks pregnant - baby was due around Christmas this year. We went to our level 2 ultrasound where it was discovered our daughter has Trisomy 13. It is very severe - she has only the right side of her heart, her kidneys don't function, the hemispheres of her brain are not connected. Most likely she will only live minutes after she is born... if she lives to be born. The doctor will try to get me to 35 weeks and then we will have a c-section (I've always had c-sections), he will baptize her (he is a wonderful Catholic doctor) if there is not a priest available, he will cut the cord and then hand her to me and my husband where we will spend whatever time she has holding her.
This is truly a difficult time for us - we have 3 other children, ages 9, 7 and almost 4 - but knowing that so many people are praying for us is very comforting.
My hopes are that she lives long enough for my husband and I to hold her, I would also like my children to hold her or at least see her and touch her.
I forgot to add her name!! Her name is Gianna Lucy.

I just wanted to update that Gianna Lucy was born and went to Heaven last night. She did get to spend some time in this world outside the womb. Please pray for Suzanne's c-section recovery as well as for Gianna's parents and siblings in their time of mourning.
