Is it okay to drink green tea while pregnant? I have some delicious All Nat'l Green Tea (one is decaf, the other two are very low in caffeine - Cranberry Pomegranate and orange, passion fruit, & Jasmine).

What do you think safe to drink????

I do believe that it is just fine to drink Green Tea, in moderation. Being mindful, of course, of your caffeine consumption and limiting yourself daily, to perhaps one cup, no more than two each day (but not two cups of the caffeinated tea back-to-back).

Teas during pregnancy can be tricky. It would be best to read the label and find out if the tea is a mixed blend that contains other herbs and/or flowers (which is often the case) and make sure that those other herbs are safe during pregnancy.

The green tea itself is fine.. it does have some caffiene so you'd want to watch that.. but it has a good bit less than black tea or coffee, so yeah a couple cups of it would probably be fine.

The fruit flavors would probably be fine.. I'm not sure about jasmine but my guess is there's not enough to really be an issue.. but that's the one you'd probably want to look up. You'd also want to check the package for hidden ingredients.

jasmine green tea is one of my favorites too, but I have to severely limit myself because I react to the caffiene (headaches)..

If you'd like a good for you tea, check into red raspberry leaf.. it's not raspberry flavored.. but a green leafy flavor.. not bad at all.. goes great with chocolate but you could make it up with something like some mint in with it for more flavor.

My midwife recommends Red raspberry leaf tea through out pregnancy and post partum.

You can usually get it at most health food stores. either loose leaf or in bags.
