Can You tell I do not know the name of this stuff
I am going to make squished flower wall hangings again this yr. My prob is they always fade from the nice vivid bright colours to pale . Is there any ingredient I can use to help the colour stay in the fabric.Perhaps a spray of somekind . maybe paint it with melted wax ? I use a plain white cotten sheeting . Of course I would like something which is a natural product as many people such as myself have MCS .

I have no idea what you're making.. are you putting something on white fabric? or are you talking about colored fabric?

colored fabric can be helped with a red wine vinegar rinse (any vinegar helps but I understand that to be the best)

squished flower prints are just that ypou tape or put wax paper over flowers on a cloth , I use white cotton sheeting I find old sheets at the second hand . Hem the edges , attach flowers , proceed to hammer into cloth . The colours are so strong & beautiful but over a few months really fade . I hang these on a dried , peeled rose branch and give to friends as gifts . I'd just like to find a way to help colour stay .
Maybe white vinegar as I do not wish to colour the cloth red . or maybe lemon juice ? when washing dyed clothing I know we used to be told to wash in salt water that it helped the colour stay but I do not know if this is true . I guess if it is I could presoak the fabric in salt water and not rinse it out just go right into flower squishing .

I would talk to the people at Dharma Trading. They are the experts in anything relating to fabric, dying, colorfastness, etc. They also have great customer service.

Truly, I didn't mean to tempt or enable you! However, I *am* glad that I didn't overwhelm you. They offer so much that my head is usually spinning after I look at there web site.
