Could you all please say a prayer for my oldest ds. He has a job interview this afternoon. While it would defer his college education, knowing the style learner he is, that would probably be a good thing.
If God thinks so, we pray for His will.
My youngest child's godfather is the one who told him about the job opening. Parian Mike works for the company and makes a good living. The job also includes full benefits . That's a big plus.
We spent the weekend getting the resume tidied up and I also discovered that Corey had extra high school credits that he didn't need for graduation in the state of Louisiana. He only needed 23 credits. He has 26! So he's turning in what he has completed and he'll be officially graduated next month. Celebration in May or June...if I can get things together.
Thank you all so much for your prayers!

OH Cay!
Prayers coming for Corey -- but also congrats to you and dh as you graduate your first! That's so exciting. I'm just hoping I can give the same good news next year !
Blessings
BTW, did you ever find out about LSU and homeschooling? 161/2 yos is already planning on heading down there - on a motorcyle -- when he finishes highschool next Spring!

Oh, heavens! Yes, I received your email and completely forgot to answer.
Did you need brochures? PM me and let me know exactly what you need.
Sorry for the brain fog.

Thank you, dear friends.
The interview went well. Corey was given a packet with a huge book of papers to fill out. He was told to go for a physical and drug test and turn in all the forms. They'll go from there. So, though there's no worry about passing the physical and drug test, he isn't officially *on* until they get through all these preliminaries. Prayers still appreciated...for his discernment as well.
My son is worried about two things:
(1) He'll be on call. They could call him out at anytime of the day or night when he's on shift. He's a very regular kind of guy , you know, likes predictability. We live a very predictable, low-key life around here. That might work against him.
(2) There is travel involved. He's a very home-family oriented guy as well. Not thrilled about the idea but travel is usually localized to Louisiana/Texas and a day trip. They have had to go to Mississippi and Oklahoma overnight, but not often.
The pluses are on-job/site training and he can continue his schooling at the local Technical Center since those classes are 6-9 PM at night, and of course benefits are included. After a year he'll get a company truck.
He's young and doesn't have the commitment of a family. So this will give him exposure (it's all in the exposure, right?! ) and experience. If it doesn't work out, he's young enough to go to Plan B.

Oh Cay -- this is wonderful news. Thanks for updating us. I'll continue to keep him in our prayers as he continues the discernment process!

Angie,
I've been thinking about how job situations are a never ending prayer discernment.
Here you and Elizabeth have posted prayer requests for dhs' jobs and I've moved on to posting for ds's.
I'm so aware that any job experience (or education) my ds gets will be a pulling force in his provision for his future family. I'm praying just as fervantly for his job situation as I ever did for dh's. Well, perhaps not as much, but only because I've seen how everything is truly in God's hands and is His will...no matter what we think the outcome should be.

Well, this job offer was put on hold due to company changes (they bought out another company and there were too many people who thought they were in charge). It caused a freeze in hiring.
Corey got a call today to go by the office. He got the job!!!
He goes this Tuesday for his physical and testing then he'll give his two weeks notice at the place he's been working and then go into training with this company.
God really has a sense of humor. My husband is facing a possible strike and our oldest ds gets a company job with benefits!!!
Life is crazy, isn't it?!
