Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Anyone have any? I'm 3 months postpartum.

Or do you cross our fingers that you won't be bald in a month? That's where I'm at!

A friend at church said to take biotin, never heard of it.

The hair loss has gotten worse after each pregnancy and miscarriage, including both of those, this is my 12th hair loss! I still have new growth coming in from my last pregnancy before this one! I guess it's age too.

Oh well...just wallowing in my shedding!

There's not really a "remedy".. because it's a normal thing with the changing hormones of giving birth.

Kellymom.com has a FAQ that gives a nice answer.. plus a couple things you could check out..

They mention that more than normal hair loss can be due to iron deficiency anemia or hypothyroidism, both which can be post partum conditions. I know I've seen elsewhere that there's a type of hypothyroidism that is strictly postpartum and often resolves on it's own.

And they mention taking good vitamins may help.

Thanks Jodie!

Yeah, I pretty much knew there was no remedy. Just way wishful thinking. Makes me nervous though!

I just ran out of my old prenatals...they were expensive. So I need to do something more one-a-dayish and not so much $$$. Got any suggestions? (as I hijack my own thread!)

I am also 3 months postpartem and loosing hair by the loads :) This is my 9th pregnancy and the only "solution" was to cut my hair a bit shorter. Now it doesn't look SO thin.

Blessings,
Stephanie

Try wild yam ! You can get the cream or the tincture . It worked for me . the hair loss thing is a hormonal thing and wild yam helps get you back on track . I used it maybe for 3 months and it balanced me right out I did not need to use it again for about 1 1/2 yrs . once you move into peri-meno wild yam works ok but if not like in menopause wild yam does not work as well so move into using Motherwort instead , hot flashes gone in a flash , rarely to return hope this helps
