Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I actually have begun some serious planning around here and I've turned to science for 4 different grades. I decided to do W is for Wind and W is for Waves as our "spines". I'm doing it for a 1st, 3rd, 5th and 6th grader.

I actually did a blog post about what I planned for the weather unit here. I haven't posted my ocean unit yet...I'll need help there too probably! HA!

I still have some holes with some of the more specific weather topics. I'm looking for rainbow living books in particular, also frost, Northern LIghts, temperature, and really...anything! I've been checking out books and checking out books...and thought...I should come to you all!!!!

Any other ideas????

I've got a few ideas. I'll have to find some of my books, but some fun books off top of my head that don't fit exactly in your slots.

Have you see Old Farmer's Almanac for Kids website?

And my son really enjoys reading the books, which now is in Volume 3. Here's their titles. Lots of fun information to read. We bought ours at Lowe's.

Thanks Jenn, I found some good ones on those threads (I'm a terrible searcher thanks for those links!)

And the Almanac site looks fun too!

Rainbows:Theodoric's Rainbow

Frost:Apples to Oregon - besides frost, the charaters encounter lots of other weather like drought, wind, hail, and rain

Northern Lights: Arctic Lights, Arctic Nights
It's really bothering me that I can't think of any others off the top of my head. I know there are several picture books I've read that feature the Northern Lights, but I can think of which ones it was in. Going to check some of my Artic and Alaska favorites.

Temperature: What kinds of books about temperature might you want? Temperature change with rising/setting sun? Climate temperatures? Meauring temperature? It's so broad - any seasonal book would have heat or cold depending on the time of year.

I just found out about Watch to Know which organizes all the YouTube educational videos for children.

Here's the meteorology section
