Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I just got word that my 14yo ds, while pitching, was hit by a line drive on his knee, the same knee he injured this past winter. Could you all pray that this is something typical, and that he can brush it off and participate in this, his final tournament of the season? Could you pray that my belly settles down, too? Thanks.

Love,

Definitely praying, with tournament-injury baseball mom empathy...

Oh no! As a fellow baseball mom I especially know this "pain" for moms. I will pray. How hard. These tournaments mean so much. Try not to get ahead of yourself. Easier said than done, I know. Hope its just a bruise.

Thanks for your prayers everyone! Just seeing your names that day made all the difference for us. And thanks, Sarah, for checking in with us.

Great news...just a really bad bruise - phew! It ends up that this injury was *not* on his previously injured knew and, praise God, it missed the knee bone by 1/2 inch! So to the right of his knee-cap, there is a big ugly bruise in the distinct shape of a baseball. But it hasn't kept him from hitting .750 in his current summer league and pitching with a 0.0 ERA (Oh, you just can't keep a bragging mama down!)

Love,

What a relief! And great stats. Love to hear about it. Tonight my almost 14 yo pitched a no hitter. So fun, huh? To have the talent in the family. My other son is playing up on his older brother's team. He's 11 and is his brother's catcher. The only catcher that can manage his brother's fast ball. Sorry to hijack! Just relieved to hear since I know your stress. Too bad they can't all be on the same team! Hope the season finishes off without incident.

arnica (homeopathic) is really good for bruises

pineapple (bromelain if you want to buy capsules) is also really good for bruising and speeding up soft tissue injury.

Glad that things aren't so bad as you thought at first, Angie. Praying for quick healing - it sounds like it hurts.

Peace,
Nancy

SARAH! You need to put this on the Baseball Moms Unite topic. No-hitters are totally worth bragging about .   Congratulations to all .

Arnica...my boys have oral and topical in their bags for quick use. You betcha! And I really can't say enough about the Game Ready cold compression device that my dh picked up on Craig's list. It brings quick relief and faster healing. Love it.

Thanks again for everyone's concern.

Love,
