I ask your prayers for my dad, David, as he dies. He is a very faithful man and that brings great peace and consolation to us, but of course is still hard. I haven't been around here much the last 2 weeks as I was with my parents in Oregon. We came home earlier this week, but he has deteriorated the last couple of nights. My brother called and said it seems to be imminent this morning. It is hard not being there.

I spoke with Mary on the phone. She's still with her dad and her family. Though her dad's condition seems stable, he does seem very close to death. He is no longer conscious, though he has opened his eyes when a priest visits. (Isn't that amazing!) All of Mary's siblings, save one sister, are there with her mom and dad right now. Mary's sister and their children flew in and will arrive this afternoon.

Mary's dad passed away this afternoon. Mary and all her siblings were at his side. It was a peaceful passing.
