I am not sure if this thread is in the correct category (please feel free to move).
My DD is 3.5 and naps are hit or miss these days with her. I also have a 1.5 yo DS who still naps. I really enjoy (and need) the 1.5 hrs. a day in quiet.
Do you have any suggestions as to what she might be able to do in her room for quiet time? Anything like crayons, markers, paints, stickers, etc.... is all out of the question - as we do not want those items in the kids rooms.

puzzles?
books to look at? I've had some kids that ADORE books even as tiny tots and I would often find them asleep in a pile of books.
a baby doll and a couple of accessories (maybe she'd like putting her baby down for a nap when you put your's down)
lacing boards (you know the cute pictures with holes around the edges and bright colored laces to go around the edge).. or those big "beads" to thread?

I should have mentioned in my intial post, she already has a dollhouse, a tea set, a few dolls, and severals books in her room.
I love the idea of lacing cards and stringing beads though.

but if they were special only get to see them during quiet time books or something.. then it might make them more attractive

Here are some of the things we have for the children:
-Magnatiles (Hours and hors of quiet fun!)
-Audio stories we download from online free and they listen to while laying in bed.
-"Buddah board", bought at amazon.com All you need is a paintbrush that is slightly wet with water to paint on this board and the lines "magically" appear and then disappear a few minutes later.
-Magnetic spiral puzzle we bought at A Toy Garden.
-Silk play cloths for pretending and making forts, etc
-Magnadoodle
-Books with real photographs of children performing daily tasks, from around the world, on a farm, etc.. The key here is real photographs
-Dollar store photo albums with pictures of family, friends, holy cards, etc..

I put together quiet time baskets for my boys recently and ours include books they don't normally have access to as well as a few other things.
Currently my 4.5yo has a leapster, a buddha board (I love that Susana mentioned that already- we love it!) and unit blocks.
My almost 3yo has a magna doodle, duplos and the leapfrog Fridge phonics in his box.
We're only trying to fill about a half hour for them with those activities.
