I don't know the proper etiquette here... after FHC is it common practice to thank the priest (other than verbally) in any way?

After first reconciliation, one family in our group took the priest out for dinner to thank him.

That made me think that I might be a slacker.
Any opinions?

I hope not, because we didn't. I know for weddings & funerals that's common, but I guess I never thought about it for sacraments that are done as a group.
