Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Where can I buy slips for DD? She's almost 5 (and wears a size 5) and a few of her summer dresses are way too thin for her to wear without something under them. I'm not having much luck.

Lindsey, I don't know where you live, but if you're near an Amish area at all, their stores carry lots of slips.   They're really hard to find in regular stores now.

I just went through this with my 3 daughters, ages 5,8,10. No stores carry slips. I ended up making some out of a white sheet. quick and easy.

Well, I am clueless when it comes to sewing, otherwise I would try to make one!

Did you look in the J.C. Penney catalogue? They might have some. If you're talking about play dresses, could she gain some modesty by wearing shorts underneath?

Peace,
Nancy

I'd try Ebay or Thrift stores, we get all of dds slips at thrift stores. Even an adult women's half slip can be cut down pretty easily and adapted for a little girl. Actually a lot of adult women's slips are made too short nowadays, so they are the right height for a little girl. I'm not very good at sewing either. All I do is fold the waist over to the side until it would be small enough around for daughter's waist and sew it to the original waist. I know I'm not describing this very well, but you do not have to even cut it down, just fold it over to the side until the waist is small enough and sew the waist line. The nice thing with a slip is that no one will see how bad our sewing is!
