Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

When writing thank you notes to large families, do you list every family member's name? Do you just address it to the parents? Or "Dear ABC Family"?

If you have a large family, how do you prefer to have cards addressed to your family as a whole?

Thanks.... I never know which way is best to go.

Most notes of any type come to us as "Dave and Jodie and Kids"

Depends If I'm having trouble writing and I can't think of much I can fill up all that space with all their names and all of mine

Also if they are particularly close (the children that is) I will tend to make it more personal (if the card allows for space) and write individual names.

If they have all younger children I would write John, Janed and children. If they have have teens I write John Jane and family.

Oh and I never write 'kids' My mother's influence there.

I will sometimes address the note to one person, say Dear KC, I wanted to thank you and your husband for...

You could add and your children to that. I find it's easy to fill up and make more personal the letter that way. Also, usually, it's the lady who chose the gift.

Thank you for all these suggestions. My ds is writing thank you notes for FHC, and they are getting very long with listing all the names.

I think I will try: Dear Aunt X, I wanted to thank you and your family for... that seems very doable for a seven year old boy.
