Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

After 13 years of homeschooling I have acquired more than a few books. I have been selling since sometime last year and still have a ways to go.*****Question is how do you handle someone telling you they want the book and then don't pay? Then someone else comes along and wants it but you're still waiting for the 1st person to pay or maybe not pay as the case may be. Do you give a time limit? E-mail the original requester back and then wait some more for a reply you may or may not get. I'm almost to the point of saying, "First one to paypal gets it!" But it's really not my style.   Just sort of thinking out loud and in public! Any wisdom(again)would be appreciated.

Thanks, Valerie

Valerie, I know what you mean.

I email the original requester, saying I have another party interested. Do she still want the book, as you have not received payment? Sometimes people do forget, so that little nudging is all you need.

I don't get out to shipping my books very often, so I would put a timeline on it. "I need payment by this time, as I am shipping on such and such day."

Sorry for the entanglement you are in!

a little setting up can save a lot of time.. basically soemthing like Jenn said.. or If I don't recieve payment within X days of request, I will offer it to the next person.

Thanks ladies. I did send another e-mail and the reply was to the effect of "she hadn't heard back from me"!!! I thought it was a fluke or maybe her Monday was like mine. Then this morning I got an e-mail wondering if something was still available because the buyer had not heard back from me,??? so evidently there is some sort of glitch in the Yahoo system. Anyway, thanks for the help. I have one other person I haven't heard back from so I guess I will send another follow-up e-mail. Hopefully this doesn't happen often.

Thanks again.
