Today we read a great poetry book by Brian P. Cleary. Rainbow Soup: Adventures in Poetry is a wonderful mix of poem with lots of information about different kinds of poems, literary devices and rhyme schemes. You could do a unit on poetry just using this book!

And my little ones loved the poems!

Bumping this up as I am hoping to use it this year. Just curious if anyone wrote any simple lesson plans to go with this--would not want to reinvent the wheel!

I think all of his books look fun--he has others on various grammar topics--and our library has them--hoping to do a few each semester next year.

Hope the twins are boys--just to mix it up for you a bit

My husband is secretly praying for boys ... though if you ask him he says "oh, it doesn't matter, just two healthy babies is all we want" ... I told him, it's ok to admit that after three girls, you would like a boy!
