It's that time of year again, ladies!

Hit us with your favorite sandals and spring/summer shoes...either your favorites from year's past or links to what you're considering this year. Let's make this sometimes-difficult part of finishing off our Mommy-uniform a bit more fun and hopefully easier for each other.

No time now, but I'll be back later to gush about my favorite sandal from last year and......to find last year's thread, which had lots of fun summer-shoe-links!

Last year was a big sandal-buying year for me so I'm not shopping this time around. Except vicariously, of course.

I have for everyday these Keen Naples. Mine are Port Royale but with a metal rather than athletic buckle. I love them because they have a rugged bottom but they look nice on top. I wish they had just a tad more arch support.

For Sunday I love, love, love my Dansko sandals. They style I have is discontinued which is so sad. They are strappy with enough heel to look dressy but very, very comfortable for hours of wear. I attended a conference last summer with my 6mo in a sling. I help him and walked on concrete floors for 16 hours a day, three days in a row and felt great.

I am set already. I have my every day Keen sandals from REI and my slightly dressier leather Land's End sandals which are a bit battered and worn (being over five years old!) but I still like them. If LE still carried this style I would consider ordering a new pair. Around the house I have a pair of Reebok slippers to keep my feet from aching--especially the heels! The kids all got new LE sandals in a size larger than what they currently wear. Hopefully this will allow them to last for two summers instead of just this one!

I lost my fav pair last yr. they were chewed up by two sweet but troublesome muttskies my gf brought them back from El Salvador for me and they were just like the buffalo sandls we had as kids .
I do also love plain ole flip flops from the dollar store I wear about 4 pair per summer with all the beaching & garden work we do . for summer runners I always wear canvas . I am blessed I fit boy sizes so I find them often cheaper then ladies runners .

I have these Keen Calistogas except mine are teal color that doesn't seem to be available anymore. I find them quite comfortable, although the arch support isn't as good as my winter Danskos.

I got shoes for my birthday, and I have two from last year, so I'm set.

I have severe pronation, so I need support, but I also have narrow feet, so I have to be able to tighten the shoes on my feet.

Dansko Sela

Dansko Sissy (really nice because I can tighten both top and bottom straps)

Mephisto Helen

Not a sandal, but a closed toe Mary Jane for dresses and the spring/fall transitions....Dansko Sally

I'm looking forward to wearing both shoes when my tendinitis gets better (I've got a boot I need to wear a few more weeks.)

Sigh! I am STILL looking for WIDE shoes for my twin dds. They want a black Mary Jane in size 10. ARG! Any advice as to what brands carry a wide? (the ball of their foot is wide and their heel is narrower so Mary Janes actually stay on their feet) Some arch support is needed as they are a little flat footed.

They want comfort and the ability to use them as dress shoes.

I don't mind spending a little if it means they are comfortable. Their feet have stopped growing for a few years now (thank goodness!) but I still have to watch the budget and can't break the bank.

Any ideas?? Anyone??   Anyone??
TIA!

I'm so going to check out Keen shoes. Never heard of the brand before; they look very cute AND practical!

Peace,

My mother started wearing them last year -- broke them in at Disney World and her feet never hurt or got tired.

Their new Whisper is much lighter and has a few different features than last year's model.

Their Mary Janes are just so cute...but like Susan said, they don't provide enough support for me.

I splurged recently and bought all my little girls sandals from See Kai Run So, so happy I did that for them! So delightfully cute (and well made).

...As for me, I'm still a Birky-girl and have been since I was in High School . I'm still wearing my 'ole Birkenstocks (I have several pairs), and just keep getting them re-soled again and again and again!

I have two pairs of Mary Jane Terrain Z- straps,

one darker for the winter and the lighter tan for the summer. What I am really liking about wearing them in the warmer weather is that my feet stay cool without getting all dusty and grungy-feeling like they do in sandals.

My favorite style is a Mary Jane. I think it looks feminine and stays on the foot in all circumstances! I like Dansko Mary Janes for my every day wear. They're great for *foot issues*, and sometimes if you watch you can find them on sale at a good price.

I just recently got a pair of church shoes for the spring/summer which I just love - Softspots Viola!!! It's a Mary Jane style, just a little dressier in a creamy tan so they go with anything! And SUPER comfortable! I just got them this week!!!

Donna,

I have a size 10 wide shoe but I just wear Payless specials or things I find at Marshalls or Ross. I highly recommend the Born brand for comfort and they run wide. I have two pair that I bought at Ross and I can't tell if they are wide or not but...

Check out this search Shoebuy.com. I searched by women's shoes size 10 wide and came up with 6 pages!!!! Maybe you can find something!

Melinda, I was just looking at those too.. I like that the black is a solid black.

And I look for the solid sided shoes for summer for just that reason.. I also like sandles but for things like camping or hiking/walking I much prefer something that protects my feet just a smidge better.

I love Clarks sandals. These are comfortable and give great arch support. I havven't bought sandals in a couple of years but was thinking I wanted to shop for some this summer. Timely post, ladies.
