I am just over 7 weeks along now. I had some spotting last week and the ultrasound showed a healthy baby with a strong heartbeat, and a fairly large subchorionic hematoma. I have had this in two previous pregnancies. one was with Mark - born healthy at term. The other with Mary Rose who we lost at 12 weeks. With our loss, the hematoma was very large and completely between her an the placenta, it caused IUGR so she never had a strong heartbeat and although she lived until 10 weeks, she only grew to 6 weeks in size.
This one is measuring on target and the hematoma is smaller and not so close to the implantation site, all are good things. I am bleeding a little bit each day - which could actually be a good thing to help this clot bleed out. It is nerve wreaking. My heart is so invested in this little one. I appreciate any prayers friends.

Just returned from an ultrasound - despite all of the spotting, the baby is doing beautifully. I am 8 weeks even and the babe is measuring on target! Heart was beating at 155 bpm. The hematoma is still there, but it has not gotten bigger, or smaller for that matter. I should expect to bleed more, but for now, baby is good and I am thankful.
