Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I was wandering around my local Barnes and Nobel and stumbled across the Betsy-Tacy series in the adult section. They looked like something I'd enjoy so my question is, Do I need to read the little girl books in order to understand what's going on in the older series?

No. It helps some, because the friendship of Betsy, Tacy and Tib dates from childhood, but the high school and up books can stand alone, too.

Just read them! (I am SO biased - this is my all-time favorite "girl book" series!)

This is one of my favorite series as well!!! You can't go wrong with Besty, Tacy and Tib!

There is a great website if you haven't already been!

I saw the reviews of the older girls' books on amazon and it seems that they are favorites to lots of women out there. I can't believe I didn't know about them growing up. I'll start reading the 1st books with my daughter after we finish up Hitty: Her First Hundred Years. But I'm excited about the books when they are older, so I thought about diving into those first.
