Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Just wondering if anyone has come across an attractive set of felt board pieces (or patterns for making them) that can be used to depict the Last Supper.

All I can find are these cartoonish ones, which aren't my thing at all.

One company that makes felt board Bible story pieces is Betty Lukens. Not sure if they have Last Supper figures, but it's probably worth checking.

Peace,
Nancy

Would something like this Life of Jesus set work?

I agree with you on the cartoon version.

I found some at our thrift shop that are nice - I "think" they are from a protestant group but they work well for us.

No idea where you could purchase them though - they were already all cut apart in sets when I got them.

Thanks for the suggestions.   The set Celeste posted looks as if it has enough pieces, but I'm not sure how the finished scene would look, given that the apostles are all standing. Maybe they could be leaning diagonally?

At this point, I think I'm just going to make my own set, using simple felt cut-outs with basic features drawn on in black marker. If we start with one of the printed sets, and then decide that we'd like to add some extra pieces to show the details of the story, they're not going to match.

As another option, we could use this Jewish Holidays Set as a starting point. It comes with the table, dishes, and candles. Then I'd just need to make the figures of Jesus and the apostles. It might get a little crowded around that table, but that's the holidays for you!

(Not sure what I'd do with the two children while the Last Supper was going on in their dining room. It brings new meaning to If Jesus Came to My House. )

These aren't felt figures, but I did post a Last Supper Craft today on my blog that has includes all 12 figures. If nothing else, the downloadable sheets might help you to draw your own, and they're not too "cartoonish"

Last Supper Craft

Hope this was helpful! Love some of the other links y'all posted!
