Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I was wandering around Etsy and saw the most wonderful Catholic shops!

The first is St. Annes Pixies. She has the cutest St. Therese playset. It includes St. Therese, a chapel and garden, plus a little blanket and little vase with a bouquet of flowers. There is a First Communion playset and a St. Zita kitchen and lots more. Truly wonderful! Maybe some of you saw this shop because Elizabeth linked to it last week.

The next is Saintly Silver and Saintly Sewing. She has incredible little saints made out of felt. I want one for each of my littles.

I haven't bought from either shop but I am trying to stay away from mass produced toys made in China. Also, I try to keep the little gifts in the Easter baskets small and Catholic.

Has anyone else found something sweet and Catholic for their children?

God Bless,
Summer
(I hope the links work. It is my first try.)

Oh good. I'm glad someone else thinks so too. I think these are so cute but may have to try something on my own. Six little saints add up to an expensive Easter for us. Still... oh how I would love them.

Any ideas for two girls aged 10 and 12??? They're not "my" daughters, but, well, they might as well be... and they're asking for Easter baskets this year....

I will probably get my 11 y.o. dd a holy water font. She has been wanting one for awhile. Past years I have bought her a rosary bracelet, saint stories, and the latest Chronicles of Narnia video.

Here are some more esty finds:

Saint medal hair bows. That is a terrible description but they are sweet.

Madonna and Child ornament These are just lovely but better for someone older who could appreciate their delicacy.

I love window shopping and gleaning ideas while I nurse the little one.

Don't forget to check our own Trading Post Business Cards to get some ideas and support some of the families on this Board. I know hair bows are included on the list...

I bought a new crucifix for the family, one that we all can see (20" or so) during prayer time and also a small statue and prayer book (one-volume Christian Prayer) for each person and also of course they will get CHOCOLATE and JELLY BEANS! Last year they each got a wooden saint doll from Catholic Folk Toys, but I think she got overwhelmed with business during Christmas and doesn't seem to be taking new orders right now. I purchased my items above from EWTN religious goods and the Catholic Company.

We're getting the animated Passion trilogy recommended here

And then they're getting good jump ropes. All of my kids are very interested in jumping rope lately, including trying to learn double dutch and the cheap ropes are so frustrating.. too much wind here for the simple ropes to move well.. so I found these, made in the USA, segemented jumpropes and they have a 2 yr warrenty even.

I still want to get something *little* to tuck into each basket.. like a saint card or maybe an inexpensive medal or something.. I'm not sure yet.. need to look around I guess.

Those are the BEST jump ropes!!!!!! We have SEVERAL from that same store and they are SO GREAT! We've had them for 3 years and they are still in great shape and they get used A LOT! And, not just my kids, but many neighbor girls too. Gotta get Anna Banana too if you don't have it!

And, also Chinese Jump Ropes are fun! (there is a klutz kit with how-to's)

Here's a past jump rope thread.

.....sorry....jump rope tangent!
