Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hi,

My husband is going to the ophthalmologist (by taxi -- I don't drive) at 3:45 to have his eye checked. He thinks he might have another scratched cornea like a few years ago as a result of trying to deal with an eyelash in his eye. Last time, treatment helped pretty quickly.

And I know it's really just another day, maybe it's because I'm tired and pregnant (12w today) and have a strange relationship with food right now and it's a meatless Friday, but this is feeling a bit straw that broke the camel's back-ish to me right now    With weather and illness, son has made it to only one piano lesson since Jan. 22 (it was 3:30 today.) More medical bills and lost work time for my self-employed husband. The possibility of some kind of complication from this for his eye, like an infection. Haven't even arranged the latest payment plan for an ER visit last month. So glad he at least doesn't have to go to the ER for this. I am not going to bore you with all my stressors, but there are certainly others. I may have intellectual "gratitude" for things in my life, but it seems like there are almost no moments of *felt* happiness to balance all this stuff out...

I will be praying for you!

...my husband is no stranger to corneal ulcers in his right eye...seems to have them throughout the year, horrible really. But I've managed to convince him to get rid of the contacts, and *poof*, no more eye problems (I pray)!

With all the other life's happenings, I pray you feel peace about yourself soon

Thanks ladies. He has a corneal abrasion indeed, bigger than the last one, but he got topical pain medication and can drive now.
