Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My dh finds out tomorrow morning whether he will be awarded tenure and be promoted to associate professor. This is a huge deal for our family's livelihood. If you could spare a prayer I would appreciate it. I am beyond anxious and doing nothing but snapping at everyone in sight

Thank you and be assured that all of your intentions will be remembered in our family prayers.

Beth

We're an academic family too so I know how important and nerve wracking this process is. I'll be praying for you all.

Thank you so much for the prayers. He just walked out the door to go to his meeting which is in 30 minutes. I can hardly breathe. There was not a lot of sleep to be had last night that is for sure.

Thanks for the prayers. He just called. He got tenure, but not promoted. I am grateful for the job security, but bummed he will not be getting a raise.

Congrats on the tenure! Your husband can always reapply for promotion but tenure is get it or be let go so he's definitely overcome the larger hurdle. In these economic times, I'd suspect promotions are harder to come by in general.

My dad is in academia and I just wanted to send a big and say congrats on the tenure! That's a big deal and worthy of BIG BIG CONGRATS!!! I'm sorry about the promotion, but I agree with Susan, there is another day for that and in today's economic climate the lack of promotion is probably more a reflection of that than anything else.

Very happy for you guys!
