Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

As I get ready to leave here for Lent I ask prayers for my little dd, who is 7 years and having a hard time. She seems so sad. She cannot handle ordinary daily circumstances and takes everything personally. Her tantrums last a long time. When she is upset she will not let me physically comfort her, will not talk to me or listen. She loves to scream and is having a tough time expressing herself. My heart is just breaking and I have so many concerns for this little one. She has always been a little difficult but it seems to be worse lately.
She does have it tough in some ways. She is 5 years younger than a very talented, intelligent, verbal, and social brother who everyone is taken up with. He has activities and he succeeds everywhere. We try not to make a big deal of a lot of his successes, but we still like to acknowledge them to keep him going in the right direction.
So, as I leave 4Real to fast, pray for all the intentions here, and prepare for the joy of Easter, could you all remember my little girl in some prayers? And maybe her struggling and worried mom, too?
Thanks in advance and see you in the Easter season!!
God Bless you all!!!

Oh, I'm so sorry you and she are struggling right now. I hear the sadness in your message. I hope Lent will be a time for renewal. I will keep you both in my prayers.

Dear Anne,
Praying for your daughter and understanding. Our now 10 year struggled like this for many years. She was very spirited to begin with and could have tantrums for hours. I'm not kidding. She was and still is in the wake of three very talented brothers. I started to really focus on her talents and make an extra effort to focus on her interests and her special qualities. I complimented her daily on even the littlest accomplishment. (She is so helpful with cleaning up and folding laundry.) She loves sketching so we also focused on that. I plan to take one of her sketches and have a t-shirt made.
I even took the boys aside to ask them to help in encouraging. They do song writing with her. The oldest complimented on what a good reader she is and how is amazed he is at how she loves to listen to literature just like he did when he was her age.
She and her sister were in a play recently and the boys were so complimentary and proud of what the girls accomplished. Especially...our Lily.
This is so hard because for a while, I didn't realize what was happening and then when I figured it out, I felt guilty. I will pray EVERY SINGLE DAY during this Lent for your intention for your very special daughter.
Blessings and

Anne,

Praying for your little girl and for you. Nothing is harder on a mom than the suffering of a child and not knowing what it is and how to help. May the guardian angels guide you and the Blessed Mother lift up your whole family.

Praying for you and your daughter. It is so painful when you know your child needs something, but you don't know what will help.

Peace,
