Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I'm looking for some crosses for a Lenten project and this would require stringing through. I really don't like the plastic crosses, and looking for an alternative, but very inexpensive. 1 1/2" or larger Is there such a thing?

I was hoping for wooden with a corpus, but perhaps inexpensive silver or something. Something a dollar or less each? I did a search yesterday and was overwhelmed at the number of choices. If you have a company that are pleased with service, can you share, please?

Here are two that are under a dollar. THis company has been recommended onthe forums before but they are in Canada and I'm not sure what shipping would be like for you.

There is a wooden one with metal corpus at Lewis and Company - which is a great company. It's probably what you are looking for. But it's $1.50. Can't seem to find one like it for less.

St. Joseph's Mail Order has these wooden Crucifix's. However, they are more than a dollar even with the exchange rate.

Don't forget to compare shipping, even if you find a Crucifix that you like. Shipping can vary and it seems that most rosary parts shops don't have much in the form of discounts or free shipping. Can you maybe go in with someone on an order?

HTH,

Jenn - I have been making rosaries recently. I buy mostly from Speziale Rosary www.rosarystuff.com. Shipping is reasonable here. Lewis and Company has cheaper ones, but the shipping is high. I have also bought some crucifixes at a reasonable price from the Paschal Lamb.

Here are some very inexpensive metal crucifixes that I use for most of the rosaries I make, they are 10/$1.40. They also have some very pretty ones for about $1-2. My Mom has gotten her rosary cord from them for a long time, the heapest we have found. I think the one stipulation in buying from them is that the rosaries are not to be sold. HTH
