Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I've heard Explode the Code referenced a lot as a phonics. However, someone just mentioned to me that it had been used to help with spelling.

I am using Writing Road to Reading and it is working tolerably well with 2 (not the most exciting thing in the world but one of those things that we try to keep at especially with our spelling challenged child) but with one child - it just is not helping. This child is a very, very visual learner and generally a decent speller, but only 4th grade so some review of why words are spelled as they are is in order. There are some things that he just repeats errors on so I was wondering about something like this - and if it really, really is good, I might even consider it as a fun supplement to our regular WRR spelling (ie a break from the monotony from time to time) for the others if it really is good with spelling. Just wondering if anyone has used it mainly as a spelling?

I know this is really old, but I just came across it.

I have not used regular Explode the Code workbooks, only the Online version. (From what I can tell the online version is the workbooks in automated format.) The online does have certain spelling exercises, but I'm not sure it would be worth purchasing strictly for extra spelling.

I would try using spellingcity.com instead for free spelling exercises to break up the monotony.
