So, I thought by now I'd be past the "nuerotic pregnancy worries"....
I'm 30 weeks pregnant and there's a change in the baby's movements the last few days. He's been quite active for a long time now. I've been having two kinds of movements,,,little tiny fluttery ones way down low, which I've assumed are little hand and arm movements,,,and bigger stronger movements higher up, which I've assumed are knees and feet. Well, the higher up movements have altogether stopped. I'm still having plenty of the lower movements. I don't remember this happening before and I'm unsure if it would mean anything. Anyone ever have this happen? I'm thinking of calling my midwife, but unless she feels it's an emergency kind of thing it's going to be hard to do much about it right now. Her office is not nearby at all, in fact it's 1 1/2 hours from here, and we are getting ready to start and ice/snow storm any time now. My one alternative would be to load up and head to the local ER up the road where my midwife doesn't practice and where I would LOATHE to go...I don't like that place. But, you know. You do what you have to do. But I can't figure out if I'm just being neurotic or not, .

hmm at 30 weeks baby can still move around a good bit.. he could be more frank breech position (except not breech) with his bottom on top and both hands/arms/feet toward the bottom. I think *I* wouldn't worry as long as there is still movement.

That makes sense. It took me a minute to picture what you were saying, but I think I've got it now. Reminds me of a friend's baby that was born a frank breech. For weeks after he was born, whenever she would lay him on his back, his feet would creep higher and higher until they were up around his ears. He eventually did uncurl himself for good.

Same here. I don't think too much about what is where at this far along!
(You and I are both due with a boy on April 15th, by the way!)

I'm also due April 15! I've just noticed in the past few days that movements have gone from the short, quick kicks and punches, to the more deep, long movements (if that makes ANY sense ). I am measuring about two weeks ahead, but we're doing another ultrasound in two weeks to see where we are. It's a VBAC and my Dr. doesn't want the baby to get too big, which I find hard to imagine because I've never had one even reach 8 lbs.
I wouldn't worry too much about it, because like I said, we're at the same point and I've noticed some definate changes in movement very recently.

I do know what you mean Bethany!
How funny is it that we are all due then?
Well, it'll be interesting to see...I was really unsure of my dates this time. It was one of those things where I suddenly realized that I was "late"...but not really sure how late. So...we kind of guessed. I had an ultrasound at 20 weeks that placed my due date at April 10th, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything. I have *big* babies. My last one was 10'15.

Yeah, I'm getting the movements that slowly push a-l-l the way across the belly now--just in the last couple weeks. My husband always says, "What was that? A shoulder? A knee?" and I always say, "I have *no* idea!"
Wow, three of us due April 15th--how fun! I'm sure of my dates, but I usually go late (15 days and 7 days), so I'm guessing this little guy will arrive toward the end of April.
