It seems like yesterday that I was asking you to pray, pray, pray for us while I was on bedrest last year for placenta previa. Brayden is now 9 months old and we just learned that we are once again expecting a wee one.
Having begged God for years to send us another, I now find myself overwhelmed by his generosity. I'm also having anxiety as I recall the trauma of the last pregnancy - bleeding, bedrest, etc. Finally, I was really hoping to nurse Brayden his entire first year if not longer. Now, with this revelation, I'm doubting my body will be able to handle that.
Would you please pray for this little life and for my own peace of mind. Would you also pray that my milk supply would remain abundant. (I'd love any tips from those of you who have experience nursing while pregnant.)
PS - Turtlemama, if you see this, keep it under your hat. I haven't shared our news with many of the "locals" yet.

Congratulations! Praying for you that you will not have the anxiety and it will be a stress free pregnancy this time, Martha.
There is pretty good likelihood that you should be able to continue nursing until close to his 1st birthday. The milk supply dip primarily occurs around the beginning of the second trimester for most women, so being early in the pregnancy you should still have a couple months where it isn't affected too much. The experiences as the milk changes varies from woman to woman. You'll just have to wait and see. Just eat and drink well and rest, take care of yourself.

Congratulations!! and echoing what Mary said.. right now nursing will be more effected by your comfort level than by supply. Things can get pretty tender with early pregnancy.. though usually once you get past latch on it eases.
You may find yourself needing to eat more than you'd think. I described eating while pregnant and nursing as "eating like a teenage football player"
And staying hydrated is so important for both pregnancy and nursing. Don't sit down without a glass of something to drink.. maybe even get one of your older kids to be the drink monitor.. have them refill your cup anytime it's empty. It's amazing how much more we can drink if it's just right there and available all the time.

Praying for your intentions! I have wondered how Brayden has been doing for months. I'm not on here as often as most due to busy-ness, and all the Littles, o I have just been praying for you and him when I think of you! Congratulations on the Little One! And praying you can continue nursing.
I think it is so true that each woman is different in her milk production. I have a close friend who can never make it past 7 mos. nursing. I have fortunately been able to nurse twins through the 1st trimester and up to a yr coming up. I will keep you in my prayers that you make it to a year with your sweet little guy. Little Ones are such a blessing! God Bless!

Congratulations! What wonderful news!
I was able to nurse my dd2 while pregnant with my dd3 (my dd2 was around 17 to 18 months at the time I first became pregnant with dd3). I continued nursing for several months thereafter...the only thing I noticed was that dd2 didn't care for my milk as much. I've heard that pregnancy can change the way it tastes ~ though I have no idea if this is true for everyone.
I will be praying for you and your Blessing!
